 Kamini roy google doodle:-

Google honored Kamini Roy, a prominent Bengali poet and social activist of her time, with a creative doodle on her 155th birth anniversary.

The doodle, created by Artist Helen Leroux, shows Roy a book of her poems titled Koto Valobashi, as many women of her time favor her. Leroux had also made several early drafts of Doodle which were also shared by the Tech veteran.

Born in Basanda, a small village in the Bakerganj district of British India, now part of Bangladesh, Roy grew up in a prominent family. She had two brothers, a brother who was the then elected mayor of Kolkata, and a sister who was a doctor for the royal family of Nepal.

Despite her interest in Maths, Roy had an inclination towards poetry, and started writing at an early age.

Defying all social norms, Roy continued her education even after marriage. After joining Bethune School in 1883, she became one of the first girls to go to school in British India. With 3 years, she graduated with a degree in Sanskrit and a B.A with honors. She became the first woman in India to graduate with the honor, and started teaching in the same college.
After his graduation, Roy published the first book of her many poems in 1889, 'Al O Chhaiya'.

According to google, another student at Roy College met Abla Bose, who was known for his social work in the education of women and reducing the status of widows. Friendship with Bose inspired her to advocate for women's rights.

By forming organizations for the champions that she believed in, she helped advance feminism in the Indian subcontinent. She also worked in 1926 to help Bengali women win the right to vote. Google cited a 1924 quote by the poet on its website, "Why should a woman be confined to the home and deprived of her rightful place in society?".

Roy won many accolades, one of which included the Jagattarini Gold Medal by the University of Calcutta in 1929. Later, she became the vice-president of the Bangiya Sahitya Parishad in 1932–33.

Roy breathed his last on 27 Sept. 1933 while living in Hazaribagh with her family.
